Once again sorry for the lapse in posts but I've been working on some mixes and stuff. Anyways, today's fixx is progressive house so check it out.

Genre: Progressive House
Description: This is like most progressive house songs. The lead up is long and very very gradual but the synths in the drop make it worth it. It's pretty epic and you're almost guaranteed to enjoy it.



Artist: Tiesto
Song Title: Don't Ditch
Genre: Progressive House
Description: What is there to be said about Tiesto that hasn't already been said? He's a genius. This is an amazing progressive house track. With his trance background, the synths he creates are amazing and the drop is unbelievable. Definitely something to check out.



Artist: Henrik B Featuring Christian Alvestam
Song Title: Now & Forever
Genre: Progressive House
Description: I find that this is more of a chilled out track than the previous two. Not to take away from the song, but it has a much more summer chill out vibe with the vocals. The song is amazing though, with great piano and amazing synths as well.

Yoo guys sorry for the month long delay I've been busy as hell but the Daily Fixx is back up and running. Today's fixx will be Drum....and.....Bass.

Artist: Markus Schulz
Song Title: Surreal (Stroke DnB Mix)
Genre: Drum and Bass
Description: This song is the definition of chill DnB. Although a lot of DnB is really heavy and dependent on crazy drops and amazing synths, the simplicity of this song just makes it that much more amazing. The vocals are beautiful and all the elements come together perfectly.



Artist: Chase & Status
Song Title: Time (Terranaut Remix)
Genre: Drum and Bass
Description: The original is a great song but I enjoy this remix a lot more for some reason. The vocals are hauntingly melodic in both versions, but I think Terranaut has done a good job in increasing the speed slightly and creating an amazing remix. Definitely something to check out.



Artist: Alphabet Pony
Song Title: Signals
Genre: Drum and Bass
Description: This song has more of a drumstep drum line to it at the beginning and the end but the drum and bass is crazy quality and the vocals although not much really add that much more to the song. Great stuff, Alphabet Pony is really an artist to look forward to.



Artist: Edward Maya
Song Title: Stereo Love (And Droyd & Waverokr Remix)
Genre: Drum and Bass
Description: I know that this song is vastly overplayed by this point but this is a completely different take on it. The synth lines, the vocals and the pace of the song just work. Altogether it sounds like a completely different song. Even if you aren't a huge fan of the song, this is definitely a drum n bass song that you should check out.



Artist: Echo Inada
Song Title: The Trap
Genre: Drum and Bass
Description: This is quality drum and bass. The guitar sample at the beginning is something you've definitely heard before, but then it transitions into the actual drum line and the synth it is something of beauty. Although I wouldn't describe this as chill drum and bass, it is definitely uplifting and a great beat altogether. CHECK IT.

Dubstep Fixx. These are all bombs. Ridankulous.

Song Title: Kill Humans
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Sick Sick Sick. The dubstep drop comes fast, at around 30 seconds and then again at around 1:20 but at this point the drums get much faster and it becomes something else. Amazing. Definitely check this out.



Artist: Lea Luna
Song Title: Hearts Under Fire (Bare Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Lea Luna's vocals are soothing to the ears, which completely contrasts Bare's style of dubstep. They compliment each other perfectly to create an amazing track. Just when you think the track has mellowed down, it surprises you and goes back into its intense nature. Just...sick.



Artist: FS
Song Title: Yup
Genre: Dubstep
Description: FS has come out with other great dubstep tracks like 'Shake Dat Ass' but this is actually something different. It will probably catch you off guard at the beginning, but don't let that turn you off the song. It gets better, a loooot better. It has its questionable moments, but in all this is a great track. Check it.



Artist: Kanye West
Song Title: Power (Paper Diamond Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Saved the best for last. The drop in this song is ridiculous. Absolutely crazy. The rest of the song is slightly questionable because of its docile nature. I quite enjoy it though, it has an old school west coast feeling to it kinda. But thats my opinion. Dubsteppers will definitely enjoy the drop at the beginning though, if nothing else. Definitely definitely something to check out.

Description: Hatiras has really come out with a great new electro song. He's a genius, and a fuckin crazy one at that. check out the video for the song on youtube, shit is crazy.

Song Title: The Wildcat
Genre: Electro House
Description: Porter Robinson has come out with a real banger this time. The Wildcat is definitely one of the hottest electro songs out right now. Definitely something to check out.



Artist: Crystal Fighters
Song Title: Swallow (Angger Dimas Remix)
Genre: Electro House
Description: This isn't the normal type of electro house you'll hear these days, but it is some seriously sick shit. The drop is sick and although there isn't that much of a drum line or whatnot, the shit is ill. check it.

Song Title: Englishman in New York (DJs From Mars Club Mix)
Genre: Electro House
Description: Sting's "Englishman in New York" is one of my favorite songs and this electro remix just works for some reason. I was skeptical at first, but was proven wrong quite fast. This remix is absolutely gorgeous. check it out.

Happy Valentine's Day! Today's fixx will be progressive house. Although many people (from what i've heard) believe that progressive house is repetitive and monotonous, the right progressive house can have a drop as sick as any dubstep or electro house. Check it.

Artist: Kaskade & Tiesto Featuring Haley
Song Title: Only You (Ken Loi Remix)
Genre: Progressive House
Description: Kaskade and Tiesto. Two names extremely well known in the house music scene. Ken Loi does an amazing job with this remix, creating a great progressive remix of the already great song. Haley's vocals are extremely smooth and soothing to the ears while Loi's synths and great beat create an amazing song.



Artist: Pryda
Song Title: Illusions
Genre: Progressive House
Description: Eric Prydz is another name which is well known in the business. Known for his huge hit, Proper Education, he has come out with a great progressive track in 'Illusions'. The song does not have much vocals at all, but that fact is overlooked by the sheer genius of his production. Definitely something to check out.



Artist: Matisse & Sadko
Song Title: Hi Scandinavia!
Genre: Progressive House
Description: Matisse & Sadko are relatively unknown but with this release they have definitely cemented themselves in Progressive House. Hi Scandinavia is a brilliantly produced track with a great lead-up and even better 'drop'. The synths are sick and the following beat is just as good. Together, they create a sickk song.



Artist: Erick Strong
Song Title: The Monster
Genre: Progressive House
Description: This shit right here nikka? This shit right here? The song title tells no lies. This is definitely a monster. Progressive house at its best. The synths, the beat, and the production quality in general is ridiculous. One of the best progressive songs I've heard to date for sure.

Song Title: Split The Atom (Bar 9 Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Noisia is a great producer and although I really like the original version of this song, I think that it just sounds much better as a dubstep remix. Bar 9 has done really well with the remix to keep all the good elements while putting a sick drum line to it.



Artist: Calvertron vs Tim Healey Featuring Sirreal & Pippa Trix
Song Title: Rock It Roll It (Dirtyloud Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Dirtyloud have done a great job with this remix. They have found the perfect medium for synths, vocals, sick drops and progressive dubstep. Overall a great track and something to rave out to for sure.



Artist: Noisia
Song Title: Alpha Centauri (Excision & Datsik Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Another song originally done by Noisia. This is definitely one of the sickest dubstep songs I've heard in a while. What I love the most about this track is that the first drop of the song is accompanied with a synth pattern which sounds exactly like the sound that the 'Transformers' make. Not that I love the movie, it just fits perfectly with dubstep. Check it out.



Artist: Evol Intent
Song Title: Paradize City
Genre: Dubstep
Description: A masterpiece. A mix of Eazy-E and dubstep, who would've thought that would work? Well it does. Immensely. A ridiculously sick dubstep track.

Description: Holy shit. I really have no words for this song. This early on in 2011, I would already say that this will be one of the songs of the year. It is brilliant and there is nothing else to it.

Song Title: Pong (Wideboys Club Remix)
Genre: Electro House
Description: This is a bomb. Once again, something you just have to listen to. It may not blow your mind away, but it will shake the shit outta it. Check it.



Artist: Chris Decay
Song Title: Like That
Genre: Electro House
Description: This song is amazing. The song starts with a good drum line, accompanying synths and good vocals. Then, surprisingly acoustic guitar comes in and is followed by an amazing drop. Definitely a dancefloor destroyer.



Artist: Temabes
Song Title: Toksin
Genre: Electro House
Description: Temabes is a relative newcomer, and is really showing some promise. 'Toksin' is crazy. When it drops, there is so much going on that you don't know where to begin. That isn't a bad thing either, because somehow it melds together to make a great beat.

Description: This song is amazing because it takes three ridiculously good songs and puts them together to make a ridiculous mashup of epic proportions. There are at least three different drops so there's no way you can really get bored. Check it out.



Artist: Swedish House Mafia Featuring Steve Edwards
Song Title: Sunrise from Miami 2 Ibiza (Algerian House Lover Mashup)
Genre: House
Description: The original tune from Miami 2 Ibiza with the vocals from Watch The Sunrise by SHM's own Axwell. This is truly a great mashup just because the vocals fit so perfectly with the beat that the song just works.



Artist: Swedish House Mafia vs Far East Movement
Song Title: Miami 2 Ibiza Like a G6 (Acid Please Made in Glasgow Bootleg)
Genre: House
Description: Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Far East Movement's 'Like a G6' but even I have to admit that the vocals along with Miami 2 Ibiza's instrumental really is a masterpiece. It works on so many levels and is a great song overall. Definitely something to check out.



Artist: Swedish House Mafia
Song Title: One (Congorock Remix)
Genre: House
Description: I really like the original of this song, but Congorock has also done a great job remixing it. What I like most about this remix is that the drop seems to have a bit more substance than the original. I'm not saying its better, but if you like bass then you'll probably like this one better. What I also really like about this song is that the drop is basically a didgeridoo, which is sick. Check it out.

Description: Deniz has taken a mundane radio song and made it into a sick house song. The guitars used really enhance the track, and in all this is definitely something that will be playing at the clubs.

Description: This is a long song. Like 8 minutes long, but I think it's worth it and if you love house you'll definitely think so too. A great track with good vocals and an overall great vibe. Song Title: If I Could Fall (Vincenzo Callea Remix)

Description: I can't say that I've heard the original song, but after this remix I really don't want to. This is an amazing house track. The vocals fit perfectly into the beat and the synth leads are sick. In all this is a sick track which must be checked out.

Genre: House
Description: I haven't heard of Andres Cabrera before this but he's definitely got my attention. This is a sick house song and he even incorporates a little bit of breakbeat during the build up which I haven't seen before. This is definitely an artist to look out for.

Description: The only problem with this song is that it takes a while to drop. When it finally does 2 minutes in, though, it is amazing. Nothing much else to say but a great house song by Alaa.

Description: I really have nothing to say about this song except that it is a must-listen. An amazing house song.

Description: A great release from Spencer & Hill. Although you have to wait a while for the drop, it's worth it. The drop is sick and although it might not be mind-blasting it's still pretty fuckin good.

Song Title: Disque Oh! (High Rankin Remix)
Genre: Electro
Description: What I love about this song is that it really is melodious at the beginning and then gets straight down to business with the crazy drop at around 1:20. After this, everything goes insane. Something that dubsteppers will really love.



Artist: Afrojack
Song Title: Replica
Genre: Electro
Description: I was extremely let down when I heard Afrojack's production of Dirty Bit by the Black Eyed Peas, but he has more than outdone himself on this track. The drop is eargasmic and although he goes back to the monotonous bit for about 30 seconds in the middle, the majority of this song is absolutely sick.

Genre: Dubstep
Description: Nero is arguably one of the best dubstep artists in the genre today and he does not let down with this release. Welcome Reality, although not the filthiest dubstep you've ever heard, is definitely an amazing track. Some people may think that the song gets slightly repetitive but the drum line as well as the synth really works well to give a cohesive dubstep track.



Artist: Figure vs. Calvertron
Song Title: Bring The Bass Back (Calvertron Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Calvertron is more of an electro artist than dubstep, but with this track he proves that he could just as well be a force to reckon with in the dubstep genre. This song has everything a great dubstep track needs; a sick drop, an amazing bass line and a good drumline including lots of snares. Overall this is definitely an amazing track.



Artist: Borgore
Song Title: Love
Genre: Dubstep
Description: I think my favorite thing about this track is the lyrics. Actually, it is definitely the lyrics. But besides the lyrics Borgore introduces some filthy dubstep and overall creates a dubstep classic in my eyes.

Song Title: Where's My Money (Caspa Remix)
Genre: Dubstep
Description: This is by far one of the filthiest dubstep songs i've ever heard in my life. That's all I have to say about this one.

Description: A great house song. Although it doesn't have a crazy drop or anything like that sounds like a song that would go over great in clubs as well as any party. Definitely a song to make people get up and go to the dancefloor.

Genre: Electro House
Description: Sick electro house. Really gets you up and moving, much like any other electro house but this song is especially sick. Jewelz isn't that well known and neither is Swen Weber but definitely check them both out.

Song Title: Has to be Love (eSQUIRE Piano Mix)
Genre: House
Description: Nothing much to say about this track. It's a great house track and either you'll love it or you'll find that it's not to your taste. No great drop or anything, just a quality house song through and through. Check it out.

Hey all, this is the first time in a while that i've actually done two posts in two days. Wuddup! Anyways, here's the fixx for today.




Artist: Madlib
Song Title: Distant Land
Genre: Hip Hop/Instrumental
Description: This right here is the reason that I think that Madlib is one of the best hip hop producers in the business right now. He can take something so chill and so jazzy, just add a hip hop beat to it and make it one of the most awesome chill hip hop songs ever. This is a masterpiece.




Artist: Blokhe4d
Song Title: Sunscreen
Genre: Drum and Bass
Description: What a great song. To some it may sound monotonous, but to me this is drum and bass at its prime. A great, fast beat along with soothing backgrounds including piano and horns. Another thing I love about this type of song is that its something you can rave to, but also something that you can put on and fall asleep to. Great all around.




Artist: Q-Tip Featuring Norah Jones
Song Title: Life is Better
Genre: Hip Hop
Description: Nobody's really heard from Q-Tip in a while, but his last album 'The Renaissance' was a great ode to classic hip hop and this song really shows it. The beat is great and his lyrics are on point (all the the time phife, for all the ATCQ fans) and Norah Jones' vocals just adds so much more to make a great all round hip hop track.

I'm seriously having trouble posting these everyday, but I'm getting to it as soon as I can. Here's today's update.




Artist: El-P
Song Title: Blood
Genre: Hip Hop
Description: Aesop Rock's label mate El-P doesn't get nearly as much attention as he deserves, but then again he deserves a LOT of attention. This song itself is a great beat, albeit slightly dark. The lyrics to go with the beat are also exceptionally good, all in all a great hip hop song.




Artist: Wiz Khalifa
Song Title: We're Done
Genre: Hip Hop
Description: One of my favorite hip hop artists in recent years. Even though most of his songs revolve around weed, he's something fresh and he represents the typical high school or college student and talks about subjects that you can relate to. All in all, great female vocals and the beat is something that will get stuck in your head easily.




Artist: Peter Bjorn & John
Song Title: The Chills
Genre: Indie/Alternative
Description: Peter Bjorn & John had a huge hit in 'Young Folks' and almost none of the rest of their album, "Writer's Block" was listened to as a result. This is one of the other jewels on the very same album, it has the same feel as Young Folks with a more synthy background which is great.

Once again sorry for being MIA for the last couple of days. I have seen on NPR's site the 'Top 5 drops of 2010' and I somewhat disagree with the list. So, in turn here is my top 5 drops of 2010. They aren't in any specific order because all of them are sick, but here they are. To fully appreciate the absolutely sickness of these drops, I recommend good loud speakers.




Artist: Robbie Rivera Featuring Fast Eddie
Song Title: Let Me Sip My Drink (Chuckie Remix)
Genre: Electro
Description: One word. Epic. Excuse me pimp, can i sip my drink? And then BOOM Chuckie comes in with his sickest drop since "I'm in Miami Bitch". And something great about this track? You don't have to wait for the drop for too long, it happens within the first minute of the song.





Artist: Lady Gaga
Song Title: Alejandro (Afrojack Remix)
Genre: Electro
Description: Some may not particularly like Afrojack's style of drops or his Electro music in general but I have to admit this song is a bomb. Absolute bomb. I heard it at a concert and I can personally assure you that it will have the entire venue or club or whatever going absolutely batshit insane.




Artist: Zed's Dead
Song Title: White Satin
Genre: Dubstep
Description: Definitely one of the best dubstep drops of this year. Not because its grimey and dirty but because it's so different from any dubstep drop I've heard before. It is absolute craziness.




Artist: Lee Mortimer & Laidback Luke
Song Title: Blau!
Genre: Electro
Description: Laidback Luke has really outdone himself this time. One of the best drops of 2010 hands down. Not much else to say but the drop comes at 1:50 and it is amazing.




Artist: Sharamy Jey Featuring Tommie Sunshine
Song Title: The Things (Cyberpunkers Remix)
Genre: Electro
Description: One of the most underrated songs of the year. Possibly because nobody knew about it but the drop is sick and is something that you really wouldn't expect. It is absolutely dirty and is definitely one of the best of the year.
