December 20, 2010

New day, new songs to listen to. It seems like everyday I come across something new in my own iTunes library and I love it. I've started to list down all the songs that I plan on putting on this blog, and I just wanna put them all up at once. But no. You'll have to wait. I have 5 new songs today, and they're all different genres, just to show that I don't stick to only one. Here you go:

Wake Up and Smell the Millennium - Nobody
Artist: Nobody
Song Title: Wake Up and Smell the Millennium
Genre: Electronic/Alternative
Description: If you go to the youtube video, all you'll see is tons of comments about what drugs people were on when they listened to this song. But its appropriate in some kind of weird way because this song just gives the vibe of being high on something. What I love about this song is that it has a hip-hop beat with a soothing-ish background which just works. I can't even explain it, but it really does. The most appropriate time to listen to this song would either be when you're tripping balls on something or when you just wake up.

Relax - The Tone
Artist: The Tone
Song Title: Relax
Genre: Lounge
Description: From experience, I can honestly say that this is one of the best songs to listen to in the morning after a night out. If you have a hangover or just feel like shit, put this on, light up a cigarette and drink a nice cup of coffee and you'll be fine in no time. Yes, it is a cover of Mika's song 'Relax, Take it Easy' but this is the Ibiza Chill Out cover. And for some reason, whenever you put Ibiza or Chill Out into the equation for a cover or remix, it just works. Just like this song. It just works.

Catgroove - Parov Stelar
Artist: Parov Stelar
Song Title: Catgroove
Genre: Dance
Description: Before 'We No Speak Americano' made sampling old songs from the 50's popular, Parov Stelar came out with this magnificent track. Yeah I said magnificent. It really is. As it starts you really don't know what to expect, but when it 'drops' you'll definitely find yourself bobbing your head or tapping your foot or whatever. It just makes you wanna move to the beat and forgive me for being repetitive, but its uplifting. I don't know how or why, it just is.

What A Job This Is (Featuring Snoop Dogg and Andre 3000) - Devin the Dude
Artist: Devin the Dude
Song Title: What A Job This Is
Genre: Hip Hop
Description: This song has been out for a while now, but Devin the Dude hasn't been getting too much attention from the mainstream. This song is the reason that he should be. This ballad about the music industry by Devin, Snoop and Andre 3000 is sick. Its so good its ridiculous. The hip hop beat in the background compliments the acoustic guitar perfectly, which in turn compliments the voices of the artists as well. All three artists talk about how hard it is to actually live the life that they do, due to the phenomenon of downloading and all this. But who am I to say anything, I downloaded this for free too.

Dynasty (Featuring Haley) (Dada Life Remix) - Kaskade
Artist: Kaskade
Song Title: Dynasty (Dada Life Remix)
Genre: Electro House
Description: To finish off today's post I've decided to have something not as 'chill' as the other songs. This is definitely a club banger. The original song is good, but the Dada Life remix is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think there's anymore that I can really say about the song. Haley's voice is entrancing, the beat makes you jump and the entire tune just comes together to make one of the craziest club songs I've heard in a while.

Well that's all for today, hope you enjoy.

Peace.
